The Perfect Amsterdam Engagement Shoot


During a recent photoshoot with Julia and Robin, we celebrated their engagement with a series of beautifully captured moments across Amsterdam. The couple had recently gotten engaged in Lapland and wanted to continue their love story with an engagement session in the romantic setting of the Dutch capital.


We began our session at the iconic Magere Brug, also known as the Skinny Bridge—one of the most charming and recognizable spots in Amsterdam. With its elegant white structure and view over the canals, it provided the perfect backdrop to start the day. As Julia and Robin walked across the bridge together, the atmosphere was relaxed, full of smiles and excitement about the future ahead.


From there, we wandered through the picturesque streets of Amsterdam, allowing the city itself to guide the story of the shoot. Along the way, we stopped at a cozy café where the couple took a quiet moment to enjoy a warm cup of tea and coffee. These candid moments—simple conversations, laughter, and shared glances—often become some of the most meaningful images of the day.


To end the session, we headed into the metro for something a little different and playful. Using slow shutter photography, we captured the movement of the trains and lights around them, creating dynamic images that reflected both the energy of the city and the fun spirit of the couple.


What made this photoshoot truly special was how comfortable Julia and Robin were with each other and with the camera. Their connection was natural and effortless, making every moment feel authentic. It was a beautiful celebration of their engagement and a wonderful story to add to my photography blog.
